Well the day finally arrived – Saturday July 19, 2014 – Nationwide Race at Chicagoland Speedway. 
My need for speed was definitely satisfied. What a beautiful day it was — not too hot, not too cold. Just right. This year Nascar allowed fans who purchased a different kind of pit pass to enter the garages for 3 hours. I got to hang out with some friends. And then around 4pm staked out my spot in turn-1 to watch the Arca Race from 5 til 7pm and then at 8pm some Nationwide racing under the lights. 
This year I got to meet Matt DiBenedetto. 
I also got a chance to chat with my friend Harrison who was filling in for Jeffrey Earnhardt.
Overall what a great night of racing. In the end it was Chase Elliott who ended up in victory lane.
