Although this site’s focus is on Nascar, I enjoy Indy car races too. Besides the Daytona 500, today is the next greatest race day – the Indy 500. Then to complete the festivities – ending with the Coca- Cola 600!!! Watching 1100 miles of racing is fantastic and completes my “need for speed”. Some exciting racing went on today — Helio Castraneves and Ryan Hunter-Reay were battling all the way to the finish line with Ryan pulling ahead by .06 seconds.
In the Coca-Cola 600, Jimmy Johnson won. I was watching on my raceview and listening to Ryan Newman and his spotter most of the night. Danica started out well, but ended up blowing an engine, but she gave it a good run tonight.
Ryan made progress – starting 28th and finishing 15th. “Never Give Up” was Ryan’s last words to his spotter tonight.
